Man eater: Vanessa Feltz almost lost her leg to a flesh eating bug
The wound looked to be about the same size as a 50 pence coin and appeared to have scabbed over.
Wearing a short black and purple dress and a black cardigan the radio host revealed that she almost lost her leg due to the bug and was rushed to hospital last Friday to have it taken care of.
She told the Telegraph: 'I hurt my leg a few weeks ago and thought nothing of it.
'Then, the other day, it started feeling very odd — like a sausage that was about to burst.'
Vanessa had to be admitted to hospital to have an operation to save her leg and she was instructed that she cannot wear trousers until the end of November.
The wound still had metal stitches in that have to be left in for a further ten days.
The terrified star said: 'I went to the doctor and was told it was cellulitis. They gave me treatment, but I felt worse and worse.
'I had to have a chunk of skin cut out. It was nasty. I just needed to get it sorted. '
Vanessa, who is engaged to Ben Ofoedu, planned to marry in late 2011 but the date may now be pushed further back due to her injury.
The couple have been together since 2006 and have appeared on TV shows such as Celebrity Wife Swap and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
