Kylie Minogue had roles in soap operas such as The Sullivans, Skyways and The Henderson Kids. She wanted to pursue music career that is why she made a demo tape for the producers of the weekly show Young Talent Time. She had her first singing performance in Young Talent Time but she was not casted in the show. Kylie was casted in 1986 soap opera, Neighbors. The show accumulated around 20 million British viewers and achieved the highest popularity in UK.
Her first single, The Loco-Motion, spent seven weeks at number one on the Australian music charts. The single sold over 200,000 copies and was the highest selling single of the 1980s. Her debut album, Kylie, is a collection of dance oriented pop tunes spent more than a year on the British album charts.
Minogue left the drama Neighbors to focus more on her music career. Jason Donovan stated that Minogue was seen as a pop star not as an actress. Donovan had a duet with Kylie with the song Especially for You and the single sold almost a million of copies in 1989. She released her second album, Enjoy Yourself in 1989. The single was a big hit in countries such as the UK, Europe, New Zealand, Asia and Australia.

Her duet with Nick Cave in 1994 titled “Where the Wild Roses Grow” made her achieve a greater sense of music credibility. She took control of her musical style and songwriting in the Impossible Princess album in 1997. The album was a big success in Australia, however, it did not rank in the UK.
Her 2000 hit single Spinning Around in the dance-oriented album, Light Years. Can’t Get You Out of My Head is a hit single from the album, Fever in 2001. The single and the song was a smash in seberal countries including the United States.
