Star Trek star Zachary Quinto has finally decided to share his sexual orientation with the world.
The actor has avoided the question for many years but in a recent interview in New York he calls his recent work in the off-Broadway play, Angels In America "the most challenging thing I've ever done as an actor, and the most rewarding."
He also adds,
"At the same time," he adds, "as a gay man, it made me feel like there's still so much work to be done, and there's still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed."
In the play, Quinto plays the role of Louis Ironson, a man who abandons his AIDS-stricken boyfriend. The 34-year-old has been an outspoken supporter of bully victims and has played a number of gay roles, including on So NoTORIous and the new FX series American Horror Story.
Good for him for going public but I really don't understand why it's still such a big deal for actors to come out as being homosexual. Honestly, no one's ever shocked by the news. You are what you are, end of story.
